Rules for Extended Fishing Memberships (ALL Members):
• Fishing hours: sunrise to sunset daily. As a reminder, during non-standard hours (i.e. no guards / managers on duty) swimming / picnicking / games are not permitted and the beach area remains closed. Children under the age of 16 must be with an adult during extended hours.
• Guest Passes: a guest pass must be purchased in advance for insurance purposes. Members are responsible for their guests. Guests must be with the Member at all times. Guests cannot bring their own boat / floating device. Guest passes can be purchased ($4/guest per visit).
• Prior approval is required for use of Lake Minear by any camps, groups, or other organizations. You must contact [email protected] for pre-approval. The Board must approve any use.
• Non-members: letting a non-member use your key results in an immediate loss of your privileges.
• Alcohol is not permitted. ATVs and / or snowmobiles cannot be used at any time.
• Fish Limits: please practice catch & release. Some exceptions granted (visit our website for additional details).
• Lost / stolen keys: A $10.00 replacement key charge will apply. Keys cannot be duplicated.
• No fishing in/near the swim area (from the shore or from a boat).
• Always remember to make sure that you lock the gate behind you after you enter or leave the lake. With the newer keys, the lock must be locked to remove your key.
• Please be respectful of the Lake Minear Grounds, especially during the wet season. The Grounds Crew and other volunteers spend extensive time year-round keeping our grounds pristine!
Rules for Extended Fishing Memberships (BOATERS):
• Motors must be 10hp or less and cannot create a wake. If your boat’s motor is larger, it cannot be used and only the troller can be used. Remember to stay 150 ft. away from the west shore near homeowners’ properties and the swimming area. See the picture to the right for reference.
• Maximum of 8 boats allowed on the lake at any time. No tubing, skiing, swimming, or floating off of boats. Boats cannot be stored at the lake. No charter fishing allowed.
• No waverunners or jet skis allowed.
• Kayaks and canoes are allowed for fishing only (remember – rod in hand at all times)!
• The bollard will remain to ensure the boat launch is being used by Members only. Please do not park near the boat launch! The key for the Fishing entrance is the same for the bollard.
• Insurance Requirements: if fishing from a boat, liability coverage is required to be submitted prior to us sending you a key. This can be e-mailed to [email protected] if you did not submit during sign-up!
• Zebra mussels: they have been found on Lake Minear. You must use proper precautions. If your boat is used on other lakes, please make sure it is properly cleaned to prevent spread!
If you have any questions, please e-mail: [email protected] or ask the Manager on Duty. This inbox is monitored on a frequent basis in the off-season and almost daily during the summer season!
We expect our members to show utmost respect towards Homeowners, Managers, Gate/Lifeguards and the Board. Any complaint will be investigated. Please know there is a zero-tolerance policy for anyone who breaks the rules. Break a rule, lose your key and membership.
